Tom Gandy is optimistic for 2025

I hope the Christmas and New Year break has been kind to you all and that everyone has come back looking forward to starting 2025.

Personally it was a good break, I've been quiet on the golf front in general since completing my season back in October - playing a lot less than normal as various other life matters have taken priority over this period. After lightly getting back to things over Christmas, I have come back really motivated and looking forward to the golf season which is only a few months away for me now. I am hopeful I will start my season in Abu Dhabi in late March before back-to-back events in Morocco in late April, and then going week-to-week across to the UK from mid-May to October.

It's a big year for me. After climbing the ranks quickly a few years ago, I didn't manage to produce my best stuff when I then got the opportunity to play on the DP World Tour - the Tour I watched on TV every week as a kid and always dreamed of playing on one day - so gradually falling back to the third tier of professional golf has felt like treading water a little ever since. My ambition is to get back to where I know - and have proved - that my best/better golf belongs, and that is the goal for 2025.

Don't get me wrong, as I have written to you many times over the last few years, it isn't quite as straight forward as that - there have been lots of week-to-week successes, good performances, other positives maybe outside of the score on my scorecard, but ultimately, I hope 2025 is the year I can piece it together and get climbing the golfing ladder again. I take great inspiration from several friends who in the last year or two, after their own setbacks, have broken through winning on the DP World Tour, or maybe gaining their card back - there are many stories of hard times but hard work and perseverance ultimately prevailing, so I hope to follow the same path!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish everyone at IFGL and your families a happy and successful 2025 and thank you for all the support over the years!
